To all my cHEwY gum gums that I met at Sheldon College, I had such a great day! You are all talented writers with loads of random and creative ideas, keep writing those humourous stories and tickle those funny bones. And yes, pineapples and dinosaurs, let’s make it happen…errrr I hope to add some in my next book Punchlines, fingers crossed it goes through haha šŸ™‚

Thanks again and hope to see you really soon (and get ready for Con-nerd too!)

Hello! My name is Tara and I attend Sheldon College. I am very excited about your vist tommorow morning. I am looking foward to the workshop and I am currently reading Thai-riffic. I’m really enjoying it. It is intersting book and is really funny! I love the part on page 8-9 which says “I’m suprised there haven’t been any accident yet. Are Mum and Dad training for Dancing with Their Scars? They’re a cooking and dancing disarster waiting to happen.” This is probably my favorate part!

On the behalf of the year six cohort of Sheldon College I would like to thank you for dedicating your time to come and see us for the workshop and all the other things we will enjoy heaps.

I hope you see what I have written, and I thankyou dearly.

    Hi,

My name is Taylor. I attend Sheldon College and couldn’t be more excited about tomorrows workshop. I can’t wait meet you and I can not get enough of your book, Thai-riifc I am reading this present moment. I’ve just gotten past the section where the critic comes to their restaurant. I think it is hilarious how they all try to please the critic, but in the end, don’t understand what “meh” means. I can’t wait until tomorrow and hope you are enjoying your first trip to Brisbane.

From your #1 cHEwY gum gum,

    Taylor

P.S. I would like to thank you greatly for coming to Brisbane just to visit my luscky school, Sheldon College.

    Hello,
Just like Tara, I am a year 6 student at Sheldon College. I am very much looking forward to having the opportunity to meet someone as talented as you Mr. Phommavanh.
I agree with Tara 100% when she says that your book is very interesting and funny, because it is oh so true!!!
I am very close to completing the reading of your book and have thoroughly enjoyed the story thus far. I am very keen to be participating in the workshop being held by yourself tomorrow. I hope to gain some valuable information as I particuarly enjoy writing. Some of the things that I am hoping to learn from you tomorrow, are how to structure my sentences to make the writing passage as enjoyable and creative as possible. I would also like to gain further knowledge on how to capture the reader so it is as impossible for them to put the book down.

  • Laura Dower Posted May 18, 2011 10:28 am

My apologies… I accidentally hit the submit button before completing my comments.

As I was saying: I would like to also gain further knowledge on how to capture the reader so it is impossible for them to put the book down.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this, and I wait with anticipation for your visit tomorrow.

u came to Sheldon College 1 year ago and i still cannot find that book about my beloved pineapples on the shelves of bookstores.

P.S-pineapples were my idea and dinosaurs can be added if possible.

  • admin Posted May 30, 2012 6:30 am

Lol, Punchlines does mention pineapples but alas, I couldn’t write a whole book on one…don’t worry I’m sure I can push Penguin to publish it soon!
