Perth Writers Festival 2012

My first festival of the year will happen in glorious Perth, from February 23rd to the 26th. I’ll be doing 2 workshops on writing humour on the 23rd and the 26th (which is the family fun day!). So if you know any kids, bring them along. Check out the PWF website for more info. I’m excited for my first trip to Western Australia, hope to see some of my old and new cHEwY gum gums.

Libraries around Australia are hosting summer reading programs and I’ll be involved with Queensland’s own ‘Amazing Read’ program with an online session on January 17th. I’ll be joined by legends such as Andy Griffiths and Morris Gleitzman who are also doing their own sessions. Check out their website for more info on how you can join me for some summer reading fun!

CBCA Northern Sydney Christmas Party!

On November 30th, I’ll be at Balgowah RSL for the CBCA Northern Sydney Sub-branch. We have special guests Anna Fineberg and Kim Gamble, author and illustrator team of Tashi among other books. Anna will also be reading from her brand new book that won’t be out until next year! We also have loads of prizes, raffles, auctions of great illustrations and a chance to mingle with book lovers! Sutherland Shire Literature Festival

The Shire will be on fire, I’ll be there for the literature festival on November 13th and 14th. I’ll be running a workshop on writing comedy on the 13th at Gymea Community Centre. I’ll also be doing a talk and workshop for the kids day on the 14th. Check out their facebook page!

I’m off to Tassie for a four day tour, visiting schools such as Rose Bay, New Norfolk HS, New Town HS and Kings Meadows HS…plus a few TATE meetings and random appearances thrown in. It should be fun to visit the Apple Isle

KOALA Ceremony

Sydney Children’s Festival

I’m back at the Sydney Children’s Festival on October 1st at Carriageworks in Redfern. I’ll be part of a trivia show called ‘Books and Brains’ with host Deb Abela at 12pm. Plus I’ll be doing some storytelling in the short and sweet play for 1pm. Come down and say hello, it’s free and fabulous!

PETAA Thai-riffic!/Con-nerd project

Deb Abela and I will be at the e:lit (now known as PETAA) offices to work with excited teachers in making some study notes and teaching resources for Thai-riffic! and Con-nerd…well Deb will be doing Grimsdon, not my books hehe. Hopefully we’ll be able to give these out to any teachers who want to use my books in the classroom. Stay tuned!
